MARAT introduced its own brand of seals that are manufactured under the name of “GM Seal”. Seals in contact with sliding surfaces

The seals in contact with sliding surfaces are also called dynamic seals. They are designed for sealing the space between surfaces with definite relative motion (rotating or oscillating motion). This type of seals includes: radial shaft seals, axial shaft seals (V-rings), and packing and piston seal rings. These seals are manufactured in metric and inch standards and are commonly made of NBR or FPM material. This group also includes mechanical face seals (bearing seals), which are designed to operate in harsh environments and are normally made of elastomer bearing steel or cast iron and elastomer. Dynamic sealing is more difficult than static sealing as it requires more meticulous selection of design and material execution. Dynamic seals commonly serve the purpose of retaining lubricant, excluding contaminants and withstanding differential pressures.

Seals in contact with stationary surfaces

The seals in contact with stationary surfaces are commonly referred to as static seals. Typical examples of static seals are: O-rings and gaskets. A static seal is located in a groove and sees little or no relative motion between the mating surfaces. These seals are available in standard metric and inch sizes as well as in a wide variety of sealing material and can be safely used in almost every industry.

Seals for reciprocating motion

The seals for reciprocating motion are designed to seal the space between the elements moving to-and-fro relative to each other. This group includes seals for hydraulic and pneumatic actuators such as piston and rod sealing tapes and guide rings. These seals are made of various materials depending on the use and application.
